Happy 4th of July!! We celebrate our independence with parades, cook outs, pool parties, and of course fireworks. Many towns have fireworks displays for spectators to ohh and aah at. Here is a list of the 10 best fireworks displays across the country.

10. AmericaFest Pasadena, CA
The Rose Bowl stadium is the location for this family event that includes live entertainment, vendors and closes out with the largest fireworks display in Southern California that you can watch in the parking out.

9. Las Vegas, Nevada
The bright neon lights are even brighter for the holiday. Multiple casinos compete with shows along the strip. This display may be for adults only with some of the best views at roof top bars. 

8. Music City July 4th Nashville, Tennessee
Music and other entertainment for the whole family is wrapped up with what is described as the largest fireworks show in the south.

7. Go Forth on the River, New Orleans, Louisiana
Two dueling barges battle on the Mississippi River for this annual display. You can see the show for anyway in town but for the best view make a reservation to watch from a riverboat.

6. Addison Kaboom Town, Addison Texas
Everything is big in Texas and this show is no exception. Located just outside of Dallas this small town boosts the longest fireworks display with a running time of 30 minutes. Also note that show usually happens on the 3rd and not the 4th.

5. Fair St. Louis, Saint Louis, Missouri
With the Gateway Arch as the backdrop, this display fires off 15,000 pounds of fireworks over the course of three days. 

4. Wawa Welcome America July 4th Fireworks, Philadelphia, PA
The birthplace of our nation and location of the signing of the Declaration of Independence there is no better place to celebrate our nation’s birthday. The festival lasts a number days leading with up to the 4th Grand Finale fireworks display with parades and other ceremonies. Grab a blanket and find a spot at Boathouse Row or Schuylkill River Park for best viewing.

3. National Mall Independence Day Celebration, Washington DC
With our nation’s capital as the backdrop this display illuminates many of the historical monuments and memorials in the area. The highlight being a live performance of the 1812 Overture by the National Symphony Orchestra with a live canon. Best viewing spots are the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials.

2. Boston Pops Fireworks Display, Massachusetts
One of the nation’s oldest 4th of July celebrations it attracts over 500,000 spectators every year. Barges in the Charles River light up with sky with the help of the Boston Pops featuring the 1812 Overture. Many locals argue that best viewing is across the river in Cambridge or canoe or kayak in the Charles but keep a safe distance from the barge.

1. Macy’s Annual 4th July Fireworks, New York
Famous for the balloons in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Macy’s boost the largest display in the country. Four barges line the Hudson River to light up the Big Apple. This display is televised but even the best HD picture can’t capture what the eye can see. Many parts of the city are great viewing areas but if you’re not into crowds there is prime viewing spots along the waterfront in Weehawken and Hoboken, New Jersey.

Honorable mentions go to Lake Tahoe, California, and Atlantic City, New Jersey.
